Line 1 To the Trustees & Faculty of Lane Theological Seminary
Line 2 Gentlemen,
Line 3 We the undersigned, members of the
Line 4 Seminary, take the liberty of addressing you on a subject
Line 5 not very important, but yet intimately connected
Line 6 with our daily convenience and pleasure.
Line 7 It is with no little regret that we have seen our
Line 8 beautiful front yard, for the last six weeks, turn’d
Line 9 into a pasture for some dozen or twenty cows. It is
Line 10 needless for us to state the many little annoyances
Line 11 to which we are subjected, by so many cattle running
Line 12 at large through the yard. _ _ For the sake of having a
Line 13 neat & pleasant front yard, that shall not be disagreeable
Line 14 to ourselves, our friends, acquaintances & visitors of the Sem 7;
Line 15 we respectfully request that some other pasture may be
Line 16 provided for the cattle; at least, till the close of the present
Line 17 term__
